Send FlowersMatthew Walter Figgs Matthew Walter Figgs, 25, of Topeka died Thursday, May 23, 2013. Matt was born December 1, 1987 in Topeka, the son of Jack and Julie (Scheck) Figgs. He was a 2006 graduate of Shawnee Heights High School and was currently employed at Express Card and Label. Matt enjoyed the history of WW II, hunting and his family. Matt is survived by his mother, Julie Figgs, his father Jack Figgs, both of Topeka, his maternal grandparents, Walter and Nancy Scheck of Paxico, his paternal grandparents, Eddie and Avis Figgs of Hoyt. His girlfriend, Peyton Sloan, a half-sister, Kelseigh Figgs and a half-brother, Ethan Figgs, all of Topeka, along with several aunts and uncles also survive. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 pm Tuesday at Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home. Mass of Resurrection will be celebrated at 11:00 am Wednesday at Mother Teresa of Calcutta Catholic Church. Graveside services will be at 2:30 pm Wednesday at Bethlehem Cemetery, Paxico. In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions be made to the Family Service and Guidance Center sent in care of Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home, 800 SW 6th Avenue, Topeka, KS 66603.
