I am a friend of Millie. I am so sorry to hear of your loss. I was not aware that Matt had gone home to be with his Savior until yesterday. I spoke to Millie this morning and she told me of Matt's last days. What a joy to know that he is with Christ, never to suffer again. Our church, here in Gadsden, Al. has prayed for you and your family. Please know we will continue to hold you and your family up in prayer. Our hearts go out to you.

you dont know how much you meant to me. you were my first boyfriend, first kiss, first love, and most of all my good friend. i miss you so much but on the bright side i can talk to you whenever i want and i still have all the memories we spent together. i look through the pictures of me and you from pre-school and i cry my eyes out. i have every picture we ever took still. i just wish i would have known before so i could have said my last words to you but i hope one day we will meet in heaven...

Matt touched all of his nurses and nursing students in a special. He will never be forgotten and will always be loved and missed. My prayers go out to all his family and friends. Losing someone you love is the hardest thing but time and God will heal your hurt. Look to God for guidance and peace he will give it to you gladly. Love you and Miss you very much Matthew Godwin. We are thinking of you today. Matt has touched so many lives. What a wonderful young man that always had a smile for everyone, and demonstrated courtesy and kindness to those who met him. Please know that you are not alone today. Your friends are lifting you up in prayer.

I'm sorry that this terrible thing has happened to Matt. I only wish that could have a little bit more time to see him. But you should be happy for him because he isn't suffering anymore. Friday August 15 that day was the happyiest day of his life but still no parent should have to bury they're child noone. Again i'm so sorry. Love,V.J. Byrd
