Not sure what to say?

One of the best men I have ever known! Always had a nice thing to say to me even though I didn't hang out with he and his friends. Hard worker and tremendously dedicated to everything he did. God Bless you all and may our Lord give you peace and comfort.

My name is Jim Conforti and Matt was a cousin of mine on my Moms side. I have real fond memories of Matt. Growing up in the 60's and 70's, we would always go to Sacramento for Easter and Thanksgiving Holidays. There we would meet our cousins whom we had not seen since the proceeding holiday. All were taller, and more grown up each time we met. Matt was the oldest of the Conforti/Guthrie Kids, and he was always the first to break the ice and talk to us. He was a true gentleman who made...

I just saw this!! I played basketball with Matt at Pacific! Blessings to his family. Hope you're all are doing well. I had some great times on the road and in the gym with Matt!!

So sad to hear of Matt's passing. We began our school days together in kindergarten and, as my brother mentions in the previous entry, attended Presentation thru 8th grade together. Always a popular kid -- Matt was smart, funny & cute! Not surprised he was so successful in all aspects of his life... I would've recognized that smile anywhere. Matt, you'll be missed.

I just stumbled across this obituary while searching for something else. I'm very saddened to hear of the loss of a great person. I grew up in the same neighborhood as Matt and his two brothers, attended Presentation school with him, and we played Little League together for years. We lost touch as Matt left for college, but I'm glad to hear he found success both in business and life. We all can only hope for as much. Congratulations on a wonderful and fulfilling life!

Dear Guthrie Family,
Matt was such a great guy! I attended Pacific University a year or two after Matt. I was in the business program and I was lucky enough to have an internship at ESI where Matt was my primary contact and teacher/mentor. I learned a lot from him, and got to know him as a person who was funny, engaging, and wouldn't hesitate to help you with problems. He will be missed by all of us. May God be with you at this time.

Dear Guthrie Family. Along with my two brothers, I attended Jesuit with Matt. He always had a smile and a funny antecdote. He was a great guy back then, and it is so good to know that he shared that special goodness as a dad, husband and friend. May God bless you and hold you and your family in His blessed hands.

Dear Guthrie Family -- I knew Matt many years ago, first as a baseball competitor, and later as a team member on the basketball team at Jesuit High School. Like others, I lost touch with him and just found out today about his passing. I recall him fondly as a great guy with a ready smile who was a gifted athlete. In fact, Matt and I played the same position (guard) on the JV BBall team. The day our sophomore season ended, the Varsity coach, Len Stephens, came to me and said, "Frank, you've...

Dear Guthrie Family
I also went to Jesuit High with Matt (I called him Arlo). Matt got his driver's license four days before mine and he drove us to the Sophomore dance. Your husband/dad was one hell of a guy and truly a gentlemen.
