MATTHEW J., age 40, suddenly, Sept. 2, 2010 Beloved son of Grace M. (nee Dougherty) and the late Edward J.; dear brother of Grace McGovern (Michael), Maryanne (Kim), Susan Cifaldi (John), Richard (Betsy), Thomas, and the late Edward (Betty), Michael and Patrick; devoted uncle of Kelly, Katie, Lauren, Michele, Christine, Edward, Bree, Ian, Haley, Maya and Ally. Relatives, friends and members of Masonry Local 1 are invited to his Viewing Tuesday eve, 6 to 9 P.M., BURNS FUNERAL HOME, 9708 Frankford Ave. (So. of Grant Ave.), and Wednesday morning, 8:30 to 9:15 A.M., followed by Funeral Mass, St. Bernard's Church, 10 A.M. Int. Resurrection Cemetery.

I new Matt 30 years ago in grade school (St. Bernards). I remember him being so incredibly funny and pulling pranks in school. HE WAS one of a kind!!! My prayers are with your family Matt.

My thoughts and Prayers are with everyone who knew Matty,I have so many great memories of Matt growing up,He was TRULY one of a kind...Always had a good laugh when around him, He will be missed and The memories he left with everyone that knew him will never be forgotten...

It was a very nice service & what a turn out, very fitting for Matt, being such a "people person"
Matt was a very funny guy & will be deeply missed by many. Gone too soon.
