Tongue cannot express the profound sadness I feel at the loss of a dear friend. I am grateful to have known this kind, loving, compassionate man. Matt was a true friend – one whose life is worth celebration.

My thoughts and prayers are with Alison and the Jacobson family. I want to express my deepest most sincere condolences to the family and others whose lives have been touched by this Christlike man.

God bless you my friend, Matt – till we meet again!

I met Matt & his family when they lived in Newmarket. Our families became very close and we shared some great times. My brother Paul & I were great friends with Matt & Helen (as we were the same age). Matt was such a cool guy, kind, funny and cute. He will be missed dearly, but never forgotten! Love to you all. x

I first met Matt just over 20 years ago when his family were stationed in the UK. Our families became good friends and have remained in close contact over the years. I also lived in the Salt Lake area for 2 years and was fortunate enough to meet Alison and her family, as well as remaining close with Matt's family. Matt always had a positive outlook, good sense of humour and was very kind. This will be missed. My heart goes to Alison and her wonderful family. To Paul, Nancy, Helen and Becky -...

I grew up with Matt in the UK, when he lived there with his family in Newmarket and have been a friend of the family for 20 years. I was so sorry to hear about the death of Matt and my heart is with the family at this time. I love you all very much. Irena Giraud (nee Mlotkiewicz).

Matt was a great friend and a superb inspiration. He taught me a lot and showed me how to really love life. He will be missed dearly, but never forgotten. I will always wait for the wind to blow.

I was Matt's Crew Chief for his hot air balloon training in Parkcity Ut. It was a real pleasure to work with him. I would like to express my heart felt sorrow and He will be greatly missed as he takes his last greatest flite.
