Not sure what to say?

My heart goes out to the family of LT Knecht. I had the pleasure of serving with him. I am sadden by this sudden loss. He was a wonderful person and had a good heart. He will be missed.

My prayers and thoughts go out to his family and friends.

I was truly sorry to hear what had happened. I served with Matt while he was affiliated with IBU-25 and was deployed with him. He was a true example of how a Naval Officer should be. He will be deeply missed.

I am very shock to hear of this news. I served directly under Mr. Knetch during 1yr deployment with IBU-25. He always looked after us and fought for what were right. He dedicated his life to the NAVY and were an outstanding officer.

My preayer are with his family. Stay strong and keep your heads up. God will make a way.

Dear Knecht Family,

Tonight I was stunned to learn of Matt's passing. I think back to when I first met Matt, he was a teenager, and had joined the Scout Troop, where I was a leader. Matt always had a smile on his face and was a role model to the younger Scouts. They always looked up to him because he was a fantastic person. He was a natural leader. He is and always will be the epitome of an Eagle Scout! It was a privilege to know him. May he rest in peace and may God bless his...

I served with LT Knecht while deployed with IBU-25 in 2004 and enjoyed the opportunity that I had to work with him. He was very positive and as a leader he defined true leadership.

My prayers are truly for his family to stay strong and to continue to keep in mind the positive things that Matt did for his family, his goals that he accomplished, as well as how he would want his family to continue to smile.

God Bless,

Dear Knecht and Rundo families,

I just want to pass on my condolences, and my deepest sympathy for your tragic loss.

I also served with Matt at IBU-25 and I can tell you out of my 24 years of Naval Service I have never served with a finer officer than him. I will always have the greatest respect for Matt and his accomplishments. He was a great leader and loved by all the sailors he led.

To the family of Matthew Knecht. I was shocked and saddened today to learn of the passing of Matt. I served with Matthew during Operation Enduring Freedom and he was the consumate professional as a Naval Officer and Gentleman.

His quiet disposition and mischeivious smile will be missed.
