Matthew R. Litchfield

I just found out this very sad news. Matt and I were college roommates but hadnt connected in 15 years or so. He was a incredibly intelligent person with an absolutely hilarious, madcap sense of humor. He loved his country and his devotion to public service was clear even when he was a college student.
I tell my family stories all the time about funny things he said and did. He was a really wonderful guy.

I was so sorry to hear of Matt's passing. He was a great police officer. He was a policeman's policeman. Matt was a professional and excelled in every position he held at Lafayette PD. His service as an FTO and K9 Officer set some very high standards. I was so disappointed when he decided to leave the PD. Condolences to Matt's family on his passing. I was impressed with his ability and his manner in serving on the Lafayette Police Department. He set an example for officers to follow and achieve. He will be missed by many.
