Matthew S. Malec

A USN friend who I had not heard from since 1986, found me on LinkedIn and while catching up, he mentioned Matt's passing. The three of us were in Aviation Officer Candidate School, Class 27-86. Matt had a great sense of humor and was a great guy. We marched together in the Color Guard, so I spent 3 months with his elbow embedded in my face. Wish I had been able to keep in touch, looks like he had a life well lived. Matt is shown far left and I am far right in the photograph.

No words can begin to express the deep sadness we feel over the loss of our beloved friend. He had the biggest personality and even bigger heart. I will miss his quick wit and warm smile. To his dear family, our hearts are truly broken at this news.
