ARCADIA — Matthew Eric Matzinger of Arcadia, formerly of Oxford, died Tuesday, March 7, 2006, in Wauwatosa, Wis., at the age of 37. Matt was born Feb. 28, 1969, in Bruce Township, a son of Rex Alan and Dorothy Margaret (Jackson) Matzinger. Matt graduated from Traverse City High School in 1987, from Concordia University in Ann Arbor in 1997 with a criminal justice degree, and in 2002 he graduated from Phoenix University with a master's degree in computer information systems. Matt was the former quality control manager of Hot Melt Technologies, Rochester Hills, and a former project manager in telecommunications for Global Crossing, and presently was a quality supervisor for G.S. Hydraulics in New Berlin, Wis. He enjoyed computers, reading, swimming and motorcycle riding. Matt served in the United States Marine Corps and was presently in the National Guard. Surviving are his wife, Karen; sons, Eric Paul, Jeremy Alan and Keith Ethan; parents, Rex and Dorothy Matzinger of Traverse City; sisters, Kathleen (Mark) VanPoppelen of Rochester, Ellen Marie (Beauford) Pike of Greensboro, N.C., Carolyn Matzinger and her husband, Ronald Marshall, and Joanna (Paul) VanRaaphorst of Rochester; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Rev. E. Paul and Peggy Burow of Macomb Township; many nieces and nephews; and three great-nieces. Visitation will take place today, March 11, from 2 to 5 p.m., and 7 to 9 p.m., at the Hauss Funeral Home, 47477 Romeo Plank (north of 21 Mile Road), Macomb Township. A funeral service will take place on Sunday, March 12, 2006, at 2 p.m., at Immanuel Lutheran Worship Center, 47120 Romeo Plank, Macomb Township, where additional visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. The Rev. Jonathon Goeke of Zion Lutheran Church, Fairbanks, Alaska , and the Rev. Michael J. Lutz of Immanuel Lutheran Church, Macomb Township, will officiate.
