Our neighborhood, and the community as a whole, lost a big ray of sunshine with Matt´s passing. He always had the biggest smile and a kind word every time I saw him walking down our street, but I´ll miss his big, booming laugh the most. Rest in peace, Mr. McDonald <3 and my deepest condolences to your family and all who knew and loved you.

I have known "The Reverend's" son Matt for the better part of 20 years. During that time, through Matt's stories, I have come to know his family as well. I had the great honor to meet him. He truly was a great man and he touched my life with his kindness. I am sure that God welcomed him home with open arms and he is whole once more. His memory will always be a blessing.

I will always remember the many trips Uncle Matthew did visiting his family in SC as a young child. He was the fun, and loving, smiling Uncle. As I became an adult he would always reach out normally in the mornings with laughter in his voice. It hurts to know I won´t receive any more calls hearing your voice but it gives me great comfort to know you are resting in God´s arms. Take your rest my last living Uncle.
