I met Matt at work. Initially when I started I was not looking to make friends. I just wanted to keep my head down and do the job. But after a few conversations with Matt, I decided he'd be the exception...and I'm glad he was. Matt was more than a coworker, he was my friend. We talked almost everyday at work. I was deeply saddened to hear about Matt´s passing. We first crossed paths while working for a local insurance carrier, where Matt was known for his unwavering kindness and willingness to help others. He was always the first person I spoke to on Monday mornings and the last person I connected with on Fridays. So very sad to hear this awful news. I met Matt at St Bonaventure University as we became very good friends back in the 90´s. I have nothing but great memories of Matt as he was a really good guy and always just made us laugh. My sincere condolences to the McGuire family and may Matt rest in peace

I met Matt at work, we didn´t get off to a great start at first, but we were able to sort out our differences. Just goes to show his character, he was able to connect despite our differences. I have fond memories of us going out to watch Lightning games, fishing/riding around on his boat, and just hanging out. Whenever we were out, I admired how easy small talk was for him with strangers.
