Not sure what to say?

M, You were the best of us, you should have been the last. J

Ive been thinking about you lately for some reason. Anyway, I wish you were still around to see the family grow up and expand. Haven't played a game of chess in years. I think I'll wait until I play you again. Hope the view is good from up there.

I remember Matt for his constancy and his willingness to be a support for the youth group. Karin, I loved reading his story. Laura posted this website on FaceBook, so I had to see it for myself. Well done, Karin. And a life well lived, Matt!

Karin,

What a beautiful job you've done on this memorial page. Matt was loved by many, has been missed by many, and will continue to be missed by many. He truly was a positive force and an inspiration. Hopefully we have been able to memorialize a portion of his goodness through the creation of the Matt Merritt "Spirit of Volleyball" award. What a good and amazing man!

I'm heartbroken! The only reason I stayed sane thru all my family issues and highschool was because of Matt. My prayers to you Karin and family.

My thoughts and prayers go out to his family, I was one of his high school pals, he was a good friend. His passing came as a shock.
love you Matt.

Yes, I miss Matthew too, especially his laugh. His humor at work each day helped us all to do the job with a smile. But now Matthew is in Heaven smiling non-stop. "Peace be to you", the Merritt family.

Matt,
I couldn't have survived being a Scout leader without you, your sense of fairness even when times were rough, were an inspiration to all. You were an example to all that you met on how to "live" with cancer especially the youth at St. Paul's UMC. We miss you, Pete, Joann & Nicholas

All our memories of Matt are good ones. He was the most selfless person we have ever known. Both of you are the best parents that MJ and Laura could have asked for and we hope that you all have found some comfort in the love of your friends and family. Mom & Dad
