Not sure what to say?

I knew Matthew from the time we were kids, but had lost touch with him in recent years. I was sitting at my computer and he suddenly came to mind and when I checked his name online found out that he had passed recently. It was so nice to read about all his good works. I know he will be missed.

Mr. Morgenthau was a true advocate for children and the community. He loved serving the community and helping others. He dedicated his life to public service and was always there to help guide and support the community. I am truly honored to have known and worked with Mr. Morgenthau. I thank him for giving me the opportunity to be principal of the Mary Lyon School in Chicago. His unwavering support to our school lead to countless benefits for the children of the Belmont Cragin Community....

Very sorry to hear of this. I went to high school with Matthew--he was quiet and scholarly and always friendly. My condolences to his family and his friends; please know he will be remembered and will be missed.

His passion, drive, and commitment to civic duty and community should serve an inspiration for all. Our hearts and thoughts are...

I have had the honor and pleasure of working with Matthew for the past 30 years on the Local School Council's. His dedication to his community and to the Chicago Public School system went above and beyond expectation. But more than a colleague, he was my friend. He had a huge and kind heart and was always working for the benefit of others until his final days. He will be missed by many!

I remember Mr. Morgenthau from my days at Mary Lyon and Steinmetz from 1996-2006. I seen him at every meeting, every event. I am completely heart broken for our Mary Lyon family as we all feel extremely sad with this loss. Great community leader and man. Thank you for all you did for our schools.

I started working with Mr. Morgenthau at Mary Lyon School with the inception of the Mary Lyon Local School Council back in 1989. His devotion to the school and the community was inspirational to me, a teacher. I made a point of attending Mary Lyon and Steinmetz LSC elections for the express purpose of casting a vote for him. It was also always a pleasure to visit with him in his corner spot at each September's Portage Park Sidewalk Festival. By pure chance I crossed paths with him this past...
