Rigby Harting and Hagan Funeral Home - Media Obituary

Matthew Eby Nelson, age 39, beloved son, brother, and uncle, died on July 28, 2024.

A lifetime resident of Aston, Matthew graduated from Sun Valley High School in 2003. He enjoyed watching football, tinkering with electronics and working out.  He never shied away from a good political discussion. Matt absolutely loved his family. He spent many wonderful hours with his nephew playing video games, always with his dogs by his side.

Matt was preceded in death by his father, Harry Eby Nelson.

He is survived by his mother, Anne Nelson, and his siblings Lisa Hughes Lappin (Douglas) of Corbin City, NJ, Michael Hughes (Holly) of Estell Manor, NJ, and Kristina Nelson (TJ) of Aston, PA.  He was the beloved uncle of Delaney, Kyle, Zoey & Dean Lappin; Ethan, Mason, & Liam Hughes; and John Braun.

Friends and family are invited to Matthew's graveside service on Monday, August 5, at Edgewood Memorial Park (325 Baltimore Pike, Glen Mills, PA 19342) at 1:30pm.

In lieu of flowers, donations to www.donaldjtrump.com in memory of Matt would be greatly appreciated.

Not sure what to say?

Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. 5 It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. 6 Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. 7 It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres
Corinthians 13: 4-8
I’ll miss falling asleep to the sound of your voice but I’d still skip on your morning eggs. Thanks Babe

My condolences to Ann and the other members of Matt's family. Losing a family member is hard, especially when the family member is so young. May God bless your family with peace as Matt is reunited with his dad in the presence of God.

God gained another Angel use to love our conversation on my porch when you would come over .your with your dad now rip buddy .
