Not sure what to say?

Unfortunately I was not able to meet or get to know Matt. However, after reading over some of his accomplishments, I found that he was an outstanding young man. As for all friends and family, you must be proud to have known and loved the young man. We must all keep in mind, that many have lived a long life and still did not contribute to society as Matt did; in just his mid twenties. The Good Lord has a special place for people like him! We will keep all of you in our prayers out here.

Although we never got the opportunity to meet Matt, we certainly heard a lot about him from our daughter, Mariel, who was his good friend and Peace Corps roommate in a tiny town in Namibia for 9 months. We are so grateful for his friendship to her in their challenging times there. Our hearts go out to all of you in his family, as you probably felt, as we did, that if he got home safely from Namibia, he would be fine.

Unfortunately, we did not know Matt. My husband, too, is a windmill technician and works in Palm Springs, CA. Through a friend in Texas we learned about the tragedy of Matt’s death. The wind industry is a tight knit community and sad news such as this impacts them all. I read about Matt and his many accomplishments in life. He sounds like a wonderful young man, someone we wish we would have had the opportunity to meet. Please know that there are many people who are thinking about Matt and...

Although I didn’t know Matt the impact on the industry went world wide. I am very sorry for your loss. Its times like this that we are all short on words to express our condolences to his family. It’s a terrible tragedy, his family will remain in my and many others prayers.

To the family of Matthew. I am the office manager here at Michel's Corporation on the Kenedy Ranch in Sarita Texas. We just want to let yall know that our deepest sympathy goes out to the family and friends of Matthew!! Yall are in our prayers!! We didn't know him, but still feel very bad for your loss!

Matt was in our home quite a few times. what struck us about this incredible, engaging, warm, and sensitive man was his zest for life and warmth. bill and i knew right away that he must have come from a wonderful, happy family and home. we loved him and grieve with you.
