I just want you to know that my family has not forgotten and we are eternally grateful for Matt's sacrifice.

To the Phillips Family- You don't know me, but I was lucky enough to support a veteran's charity and received a bracelet of a fallen soldier. I wanted to let you know that the name chosen for me was Matthew's. I am honored to to play a small part in his legacy and will wear his name with pride. From all that I have read, he was a great man and true hero. I am very sorry for your loss but know that he has a new friend that he's never met in me.

I miss you so much Matt, this willl be 4 years you've been gone. i remember Christmas at meme's with you, and even coming up there to see you and mary beth one year in atlanta. i wish you could still be here but i know your better now and i thank you for what you did for not only us your family but for everyone, i love you matt

I know the loss of your son was devastating. I too lost a son to this war. I continue to keep you in my heart and prayers. I was honored to be able to stand with the Patriot Guard Riders to honor him. God bless you and keep you always.

How could we not feel compelled to pay respects to men of valor like your son who has fought for the same values we share although living half a world away.
