Matthew Ray Pierce

Graveside services will be held Thursday, December 27th, 1:00 p.m., at Greenlawn Mortuary, River Blvd., for Matthew Ray Pierce who passed away on Friday, December 21, 2007, at the age of 19 years. Matt was born on February 16, 1988, to Shannon Martin (Tolson) and Clifton Pierce, in Bakersfield, CA, and has lived most of his life here. He attended Liberty High School where he was active in Football, Soccer and Basketball. Matthew loved to make people laugh and often played practical jokes on his friends and family... One of Matt's greatest joys was to spend time with his family and friends. Matthew was very kindhearted and generous and will be deeply missed. Matt was preceded in death by his "Papa" Danny Farley; Uncle Mark Farley, Uncle Morris Pierce and his Aunt Rita Pierce. He now joins them in Heaven. Matthew is survived by his mother, Shannon Tolson; father, Clifton Pierce and stepmom, Holly; brothers, Jamie Ketcham IV, Cody and Tyler Pierce; and sister, Shelby Pierce; grandparents, Judy Farley, Darrel and Loretta Martin and Eddie and Freda Pierce, all of Bakersfield; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
