Not sure what to say?

I have very few childhood friends I recall in Manlius, but I count Matt as one special one. Matt got me my first real job at The Manlius Cinema, with our mutual Boss, Sol Sorkin , as his eventual replacement projectionist. It was a major step up from my previous job at Mr Steak, slaving for pennies! At Manlius Cinema, Matt and I LITERALLY ran the show! I remember Matt a rare friend in F-M school, throughout what were twelve difficult years for me at home and school. Hew treated me...

I remember Matt as a taller, grinning, FM upper-classman who I ran into occasionally though many mutual Gaulin and Veator friends. Unlike many FM-ers, particularly upperclassmen, Matt was always the nice-guy, the pal.

I married the Roberts' neighbor and friend Sally Beers, and today still love her as my adorable bride :) Emily, my classmate, was a close friend who I worked with at Manlius Cinema, and Sally at SnoTop. Em has visited us here in Melbourne FL from her home in...

I saw Matt's name in the bulletin at St. Ann's Church in Manlius this past weekend. I knew Matt mostly through Barb Halton and we stayed in touch for a couple of years after she moved. He was one of the first people to come see me after my brother died in 1974. Like everyone else, I remember he always made me laugh. My condolences to his family.

At this time of your passing through, my thoughts and prayers are with you. Maybe we'll meet again in a future incarnation. Many blessings to you and your family.

As I read all the beautiful things that so many have written about my cousin Matt, it makes me feel even more proud to have had someone like him as a member of my family. Even though my family was not especially close to the Roberts, we loved Matt and all of the Roberts clan. You can never replace family, just try to be appreciative of each day the Lord gives us and try to love each other as He would like.
God Bless you all.

Matt is my oldest Brother. I can remember as far back as Elementary School that I felt he was interested in me as a person and looked out for me. I only saw him at weddings and family gatherings while growing up, until I moved to Texas in 1995. Once I moved to San Antonio, Matt, Joe, and I would get together more often. Matt was very happy to be in my wedding and I was glad to share that with him. When Mom got diagnosed with Liver Cancer in May 2003, Matt and I started talking on the...

Roberts family,
We are so sorry about Matt. It is dfficult beyond belief to lose my brothers Rhys and Gary, but they were of a plausible age where Matt was so very young. No matter when when one of our dear ones go the the empty place within our hearts is very hard to endure. I am so happy Rhys and Mimi were not here but were in the best possible place to welcome Matt with loving hearts to share their heavenly home with him. We may never know why he had to leave, but God in his...

Even though I had only come to know Matt in the last couple of years, he was my best friend. He was the most intelligent person I know and I learned so much from him. I had the opportunity to go to New York last summer with Matt and we went to Cooperstown where the Roberts family lived in 1969. It is one of the highlights of my life that I got the chance to be with Matt as he visited the place that held so many memories for him. It was a remarkable experience and I will always hold that...

My pop (Matt) raised me since I was 5 yrs old as he taught me how to throw a football, toss a baseball and he also introduced me to rock & roll with Van Halen at the age of 9. Pop was always there for me over my youth whether it was teaching me how to drive a car both automatic & stickshift or playing sports with him is where I got my competitive edge and believe me we had some basketball battles in the backyard. He always attended my games and also coached my basketball team 1 year. Pop and...
