Not sure what to say?

Matthew Sell, M D put my son Riley Downum on ECMO and saved his life! My sweet Riley tell you “Matt Sell in Heaven with Jesus!” He was a wonderful physician and he is sorely missed!

Dear Peggy, Christopher and Katharine, I met Matthew in Shakespeare class at Syracuse U sophomore year. I was in awe of his intelligence, passion to become a doctor, athleticism and sweet nature. He challenged me to take more science classes and to pursue my dreams. I´m heartbroken to learn of his passing, and wanted to send my sincere condolences to you. I´m grateful to know that he lived the dream of a beautiful family and amazing career as healer and innovator. Blue eyed gentle giant,...

Many years ago when Dr. Sell was a resident at the U of Iowa, he took care of my little boy who was suffering from AML. He was a great doctor and showed such kindness to my little boy. My heart goes out to his family.

Dear Peggy,

Matt and I were good friends at Syracuse. As honors students, together we defined the first undergraduate degree in Biochemistry. We spent many hours studying together and socializing together, and we were the first two to graduate with undergrad biochem degrees. I saw the notice of his death in the Syracuse alumni journal, and I was completely shocked. We totally lost touch after graduation, but I have very fond memories of Matt and always thought very highly of him. ...

Dear Peggy, Chris, and Katie,
I am so sorry to read about Matt's passing. He was a tremendous man and everyone who knew him received a gift. He lives on with all of you and forever in our hearts. May God hold each of you in his arms and comfort you and give you strength... Your husband and father lived his life to the fullest...and I know he wants that for each of you. My deepest sympathy. Karry

Peggy and family - all of us at the UW and the Class of 1980 are saddened and shocked at the death of Matt. What a kind and accomplished man, and a devoted husband, father and doctor. We will honor him as you would want us to. You all are in our thoughts and prayers, and he is in our memories.

Dear Dr. Rupp, We are so sorry for your loss. God bless you and your family and give you comfort.

Dear Peggy, Chris and Katie,
You have been on my mind and in my heart since Matt's passing. I know your grief is great and hope you soon find comfort in knowing you had such a wonderful husband and father. We all lost a dear friend! Our thoughts and prayers are with you. Charlene Burt
