Not sure what to say?

Miss you lots and lots. l hope life is taking care of you.

Carla, I am heartbroken for you and your family. I will pray for peace and happiness for all of you.

My sincere condolences to all of the Shankles. He was my best friend in High School. He was like the big brother I never had. My thoughts and prayers are with you Carla, as well as Alexandra, Geno, Holly and Kelsey. I saw him last, about 2 years ago out here at the AHMGT. And I was glad I did, all he could talk about was his loving family and how happy you all made him. I was so glad he found you Carla, even though I have never meet you. I am truely sorry for your loss.

My prayers to the Shankle family. Remembering Matt from the old So. O days what a genuine good person. God bless. Lisa Avila

My sincere condolences to the Shankle family. We have great memories of our family time at Oceanside Harbor.

National Sports Center for the Disabled friends are truly saddened by Matt's passing. He was a wonderful father and put his family far ahead of his needs. All of us know him for his strong compassion and caring. He will be greatly missed.

what a loss, i only have good memories of matt. what a fun, kind, good spirited guy. helped me out on more than one occasion. i still have a picture somewhere of matt on one of our horses. next time I go to Oceanside harbor,He will no doubt be on my mind. Love you, Matt. See you in heaven when I get there!

Matt and his family shared a truly magic time at Oceanside Harbor in the early 70's. Matt was a great guy to have as part of the crew.

I am pleased to hear he shared his love of sailing with his family.
