As a former classmate and friend of Mathew, I want to express my sincere condolences to his family. In 1968, as young men, we ventured together to Lane College. I'll always remember our long practices on the football field, joining Kappa Alpha Psi, and sharing laughter on campus. Coach Sharp touch my life at Mitchell as a history teacher, I remember the encouragement he would give us on life and as a sports coach he pushed the team beyond what they thought they could do to be champions on the field and in life , with gratitude and love for a man that helped me .

I met Matt on the campus of Lane College. He was a very nice, kind, respectful young man. I pray that God will comfort and strengthen your family, his friends, classmates, and all who knew him.
