Not sure what to say?

Matt's light still shines through his family members. Although I never met him, his character shines brightly through those he left behind! I'm sure Jesus said, "well done, Matthew" knowing the kindness, humility, and joy you instilled in your family members.

I am very saddened to find out my old friend Matt has left us. I pray his wife and sons are doing well. John Bovenzi, Ar Ramadi Iraq.

Dear Kitty and all of Matt's families,
When I heard the news I was shocked and saddened as all of us were. I am so sorry you have all had to go through this. I can't say that I had a long friendship with Matt, and I can't tell specific stories. I last saw Matt probably 30 years ago and only caught up on his life through Kitty. What I can say is that Matt was a special person who left an imprint on everyone he met. From our encounters as kids in Fremont he impressed me as being one...

To the Sherlock Family:

I was deeply saddened to hear about Matt.

The other night I opened my e-mail and saw a message from the "cook/house mother" at the Alpha Chi Rho Fraternity" at Clarkson. The subject line read..."Death of an Alumni". Since Mary has been cooking at the Fraternity since 1980 or so, and until recently I hadn't visited Clarkson in more than 20 years, my immediate thought was that it was very unlikely I would know the person this message was about. ...

To the Sherlock Family:

I am deeply saddened to hear about the loss of such a talented and personable friend. Although it has been a number of years since I’ve spoken with Matt, I vividly remember his effervescent smile and charismatic personality that were a few of the many traits that made him so special. I know how proud your family must be of Matt’s many accomplishments and will hold on to the fond memories and love you shared as a family. I trust many of Matt’s talents...

Matt was a gentle, kind, and smart individual. I grew up with Matt at ESM and we played pop warner(Youth) football together. I was a country kid that didn't know many people beyond the street I lived on. At the age of 11 & 12 and through high school, Matt and I would catch up with a 30 minute chat now and then. Always sincere in regard to how each of us were finding our way through all the drama of our teen years. And the last time - our conversation was about our beautiful wives and how...

To the Sherlock Family,
I was shocked and saddened to hear of Matt's passing. I know there are no words that can take away your pain. But you can tell that Matt was greatly admired and loved just by reading all the wonderful comments. We were all blessed to have known him. Please accept my deepest sympathies. My prayers go out to all of you.

When I heard of Matts passing I was in shock. Matt has been a friend since the 80's and how fortunate I feel to have known him. I didn't know a person who could be around him without smiling, because he just had a way of making you laugh. Shortly after he and Jennifer started dating, my husband and I moved to NC. Although we rarely saw each other anymore, I always felt when I did see him, it was like picking up where we left off. He was a true wonderful friend. God chose the perfect...
