Not sure what to say?

Rest in Peace, Matt. My thoughts and prayers go out to all the Smith family!

Matt: i still remember our 6 and your 7 getting together for BBQ's, carpooling to Holy family, baseball at West Orange Little League. Then we lost touch when we moved to Orange Hills and i went to La Purisima. I will never forget the GENTLEMAN MATT SMITH. I played basketball for El Modena ,and matt for Mater Dei. I hit the winning shot at the buzzer and before my teammates could reach me Matt was hugging me and congratulating me as we still had that childhood attachment. We were like brothers,...

The Dodger casket was priceless. When we would see each other he would tap 2 fingers on his left forearm indicating calling in a lefthander, and I would tap my right foreman "to bring in a righty". Duke Snyder, Don Drysdale, and now Matt Smith. Dodger games will never be the same.

Father Christopher prayed for all the intentions at St. Cecilia's in Tustin CA Saturday a week ago April 29th and included his Brother in the prayers. I regret that I did not ask him about his Brother's passing to eternal life afterwards; and that I did not get to Matthew's Wake or Mass. A Deacon told me yesterday that Fr. Chris' speaking to his Brother at the service was very powerful. Would it be possible for it to be available for us on youtube? I see many beloved friends are out of...

Rest In Peace, Matt!

We were so sorry to hear about Matt's passing. Our thoughts and prayers are with all of you.

We enjoyed the youthful pleasures of friendship while growing up in Orange and I am deeply saddened by Matt's passing. Love and Peace! So many laughing moments between! Thank you, Matt

My condolences to the entire Smith family. I remember your son, husband, father & brother from Mater Dei. He was a well regarded teenager so I am not at all surprised he was a well respected man. May he rest in the Perpetual Light of Our Lord and may your hearts be forever comforted by your wonderful memories!

Our prayers are with you. If we Can do anything please let is know. Mat will be sorely missed.
