Not sure what to say?

I think of you often, my brother in arms.

Hello. I know it's been some time, but I just want you to know that I still think about Matt and his family. I deployed with him in Afghanistan. I was in Iraq when the Blackhawk went down. It was a complete shock to me. I remember Matt being a super family man. His love for reading. He actually lent me Harry Potter to read for the first time. Please know that you are strong. And I hope those previous children know what a hero their dad is.

Hello,
We realize that we are very late to express our deepest condolences, but we wanted to let your family and friends know that we have made a small donation to the Fisher House Foundation to honor and remember Matthew L. Tallman US Army Sergeant. We recognize that this is a humble tribute, but we wanted you to know that it is heartfelt and made possible by thousands of like-minded individuals across the American youth hockey community and beyond. We will not forget. May God Bless...

Matt wasn't just a good man, he was a great man. This may sound trivial, but once when I was stuck in a severe depression over either having to reclass out of aviation or being med-boarded out, Matt was there with kind words and a shoulder for me to lean on. I have been on this page at least a dozen times since Jody told me what happened a few years ago.

Matt was the type of guy that people wanted to know, and in a short few months of afternoon PT sessions and random gatherings of...

Mathew and his big brothers and sister and cousin, Misty

To my little brother, Matthew. I was always so proud of you and what you did for our country. We certainly didn't have enough time. I will always miss you and our father dearly. I look forward to seeing you both again some day. In loving memory, Susan E. Tallman.

To my brother, I will always remember your zest for life and your goofy sense of humor. I miss you and think of you always. I bear this tattoo on my left forearm proudly, which commemorates you and our older brother John.

Sleep well my brother, you are my hero.

Love,

David "Big Bro"

Merry Christmas Matthew. You are NEVER forgotten. God Bless You & your family!

I was looking through Army Aircrews and saw that Matt had been killed shortly after I left Iraq in 2007. I remember him and his wife very well as we had all gone to AIT together at Ft. Eustis in 2000 and am still saddened to have learned about his death.

Matthew, you'll never be forgotten.
