Not sure what to say?

Matthew was my first boyfriend as I was his first girlfriend. He was also my first kiss and my first love. We had a few wonderful years together and I have countless memories that I will cherish forever. Although we were young, our love was strong and real, and I never thought that it would end. For me it never did, for even after we ended our relationship, I continued to care about him and love him, because as he said, you never forget your first love. I could never forget him or stop...

WHILE WE ARE GRIEVING SO OVER THE LOSS OF OUR SON MATTHEW , I AM NOW ABLE TO SIT AND RESPOND TO ALL OF THE LOVELY EXPRESSIONS OF SYMPATHY FROM EVERYONE AND WANT TO THANK YOU .IT IS NOT POSSIBLE FOR US TO PUT INTO WORDS RIGHT NOW, HOW MUCH MATTHEW IS LOVED AND MISSED BY HIS FATHER, SISTER AND MYSELF, BUT PLEASE KNOW THAT EACH KIND WORD, EACH EXPRESSION OF SORROW, EACH STORY THAT YOU HAVE SHARED, ARE LIKE TINY THREADS OF GOLD THAT WE WILL CHERISH AND USE TO HELP MEND OUR HEARTS.

Letting Go, Holding Fast

This poem is a kite
taking my grief aloft.

This poem is a kite string
connecting me to you.

I will let the kite fly
higher and higher
until it is but a glimpse,
but the cord I will clutch
tightly to me, forever.

I wrote this for Matt and for all those who are grieving with us. I wish you all healing. Matthew's Aunt Rosie

My condolences to the Thompson Family and his friends. Soon as i heard the news i could of collapsed. Its been a few years seen I have seen and talked to Matt, ever since of moved from the glen rock area. But i can remember when we were in a band together and when i was showing him how to play guitar after school in the 10th grade at my house or his house. I can only hold on to the memories and thoughts of us in High School and playing music together. You will be missed my old friend, but...

Though I only worked with Matt for a short period of time, he was always so full of life, so much fun to be around. I know he loved his music and life in general. I live very near the accident scene and it saddens me every time I pass there knowing that this young man, so full of life, so talented with his music and who brought a smile to everyone's face is gone. He was such a great guy, he will be missed by all who ever knew him.

My thoughts and prayers are with the family in this...

Matt was my guitar teacher for two years. I wasn't sure if i wanted to play guitar until i started to take lessons from him. The fun he brought made me keep coming back. He was such a jokester and made me laugh constantly! He taught me so much and i will never let any of that go. He was one of the most passionate people i've ever met. He didn't just have passion for the guitar but for life. I was shocked when i heard the news and it never really sunk in. I will never forget him and how he was...

To the Thompson family~ I am so sorry to hear about your unimaginable loss. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and all your family in this time of great sorrow. Matt was a kind person and always smiling. He will be greatly missed. We will all see him again some day.

Matthew was my cousin and close friend my entire life. As a child Matt was a caring, talented, and passionate individual. In his adulthood he shared these same qualities with others freely. He taught to inspire people to reach there dreams and beyond, and he genuinely cared for others. Matt taught me that somtimes in life, you just got to go for it. He was an amazing person and I thank God that in his short time with us he was able to touch the lives of so many good people, people who...
