My deepest sympathies to the family for the loss of Matt. He was my friend back in high school and I have many fond memories of our choir & drama days. It’s amazing to see and hear how many lives he touched during his life cut short. Matt, you will be missed but never forgotten. Sincerely from an old "Phantom Phan",

I have very vivid memories of Matt as a sixth grader in my class at Sinaloa. (He was the mayor of the munchkins at the Mountain Play that year!) We were shocked and saddened to hear of Matthew's passing.
We have warm and happy memories when our daughter was in Children of Eden, which Matthew directed in 2003.
Matthew was one of a kind and will be greatly missed.

Our family has been deeply touched by Matthew. He loved extravagantly! We will miss him dearly! We met him through Weathervane Playhouse, and were blessed to know him. One of our daughters and I had the privilege of working with him in "The Secret Garden" as well as his final production, "The Miracle Worker."
We will remember Matthew as a beloved friend, a creative genius, and a person of deep faith.

My deepest sympathy goes to all of Matt's family. Matt was a good friend to my daughter Corinne, both singing their heart's out in Choir and just being there for each other. He was incredibly talented and a wonderful young man who was loved by so many and will never be forgotten. Those 'Choir kids' were a great bunch who helped each other get through the good and bad times in high school, and how wonderful that Matt continued to be a director and mentor for other kids who aspired to be great...
