Not sure what to say?

The Popps family of McLean was saddened to belatedly read of Matthew's passing and apologetic about not being with you to offer prayers for the repose of his soul. Although, we had lost contact in recent decades as families grow, move, change--our thoughts are with the extended Vlissides family, especially Sophia. The Popps and Vlissides families go back more than 60 years to the earliest post-WW II Greek-American and Greek Orthodox community roots in Washington, DC. EONIA TOU H MIMNI. MAY...

I was terribly sorry to hear of Mr. Vlissides' passing. I had only met him on a couple of occasions along with Sophia but both were so warm and friendly and made one feel instantly welcome and comfortable within their home. I have known their son Nick for many years and am blessed to call him my friend. It is through him that I know his father had to have been a great man. His legacy will surely live on in those who were fortunate enough to be touched by him.

He was a godly gentlemen and I look forward to meeting him again one day in heaven.

God bless and comfort you in this loss of Matthew's earthly presence, but gain and joy in knowing that he is now with the Lord.

I am sorry to hear of Mr. Vlissides' passing. While I did not know him, I had communicated with his son John prior to his passing away. John and I believed that we were second cousins. I believe that Matthew was a first cousin of my Grandfather who came to this country in 1910.
