Maude H. Roberts

Springfield- It is with great sadness the family of Maude H. Roberts announces her passing at Baystate Medical Center on Thursday Dec 16th, 2021. Maude was born on May 31st, 1928 in Chicopee, the second of four daughters of the late Herbert and Martha (Walz) White.  Maude married her high school sweetheart Arthur E. Roberts in 1947.  Maude and Art were devoted to one another.  Together they raised three children and shared 55 wonderful years together.  They were blessed with 13 years of retirement spent traveling the country, camping in Vermont, and wintering in St. Petersburg, FL until Art’s passing in 2003.  Maude was employed by Dow Jones Inc. in Chicopee for 24 years. She enjoyed working in their Accounting and Computer departments.  Maude will be dearly missed by her family.  She will be most remembered for being a loving wife, mother, and grandmother, always putting the needs of her family before her own. Her family will especially miss the special birthday cakes she made for all. Her friends will remember her for her sweetness and pleasant disposition.  She was fun-loving and made friends easily because she was always good company.  In addition to her parents and husband Art, Maude is predeceased by her son Robert A. Roberts and sister Constance Boisvere. Maude leaves behind her daughter, Donna Brodeur and her husband David of Ludlow; son Arthur Roberts and his wife Linda of Chicopee; and daughter-in-law Deborah Roberts of Springfield.  She also leaves five grandchildren, Jenny French and her husband Christopher of East Longmeadow; Sara Haffty and her husband Jeffrey of Sturbridge; Kate Cabral and her husband Jarrod of Wellfleet; Kyle Roberts of Chicopee; Daniel Roberts and his wife Miranda of Chicopee; and eight great-grandchildren.  In addition, she leaves her two loving sisters May Runkle and Dixie Demers and her husband Ernest all of Chicopee.  Maude will be interred with her husband at the Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Agawam. Services will be private and there will be no visitation hours due to COVID-19. The family wishes to thank the many doctors, nurses, and care technicians of Baystate Medical Center for their compassionate care.
