Mrs. Maudie Roberson Rouse, age 83, a resident of Oak City, NC died Sunday March 15, 2026, at her home.
A memorial service will be held at Gold Point Church of Christ on Thursday March 19,
2026, at 2:00 p.m. and will be officiated by Chris Minton. The family will receive friends
in the church fellowship hall following the service in the sanctuary.
Mrs. Rouse was born on March 18, 1942, to the late Will Roberson and Jamie Coltrain
Roberson. In 1961 she married Milton Otha Rouse who preceded her in death in 2019,
after being married for fifty-eight years. She was the manager of Martin County Schools
Cafeteria for thirty years until she retired in 2005. Mrs. Rouse enjoyed sewing, quilting,
and baking cakes.
Survivors include her daughter, Wanda Rouse Bullock and husband Mike of
Williamston, a son, Milton “Roy” Rouse and wife Jessica of Williamston, five
grandchildren, Georganna Forbes (Warren), Nicholas Sawyer (Kasie), Mara Beth Wilson (Wayne), Olivia Rouse,
Daphne Rouse, three great grandchildren, Sawyer Manning, Marley Forbes, Grady Forbes,
two brothers, Russell “Buster” Roberson of Williamston, Grady
Roberson of Eden, three sisters, Barbara Ann Thompson of Williamston, Jean Simpson
of Chocowinity, and Polly Griffin of Tennessee.
Mrs. Rouse was predeceased, along with her parents and husband, by 17 siblings.

Aunt Maudie was the sweetest woman ever. She would do anything to help you. She helped with my mom so much. She also made the best cakes. She was loved dearly.
