Maureen Kaye Coady Brooks, 65, lovingly known as Al, M, Face, Grandma two-stroke, or Grandma Yum, passed to the other side March 9, 2020, approximately three minutes after being toasted with Patron in Styrofoam cups. She would have probably preferred a Nutty Irishman, but we aren't that...

I must begin by expressing my most "heart-felt" condolences to all of Maureen's family, friends, as well as her precious "loved animals/family." OMG! What a wonderfully written/creative way to express the LOVE everyone exchanged/shared within Maureen's lifetime. Unfortunately, I did not know Maureen. I still must write my thoughts to the FAMILY AND LOVED ONES.
The writer of this remarkable OBIT. brought tears and SO MUCH laughter as well, and truly honored Maureen's obvious sense of...

Maureen and her family were our neighbors for the past 30 some years, and I could not have asked for a better neighbor. When her girls and my two kids were in elementary school, she was their guardian angel. As they grew up I always knew if a problem came up and mom wasn't available, Maureen was. My favorite memory was every Halloween I knew our house would get TP'd and you could hear her and the girls laughing when we discovered it. It was tradition. Rest in peace my friend you will be...

That time we began to morph into one another
My beloved sister was the best example of unconditional love that I have had, and doubtlessly will have in my life. This is not to say that she was indiscriminate with her love. She gave no comfort to the casually cruel, mean-spirited, bigoted or small minded. She would fiercely call out those who acted with imperious entitlement; who would not deign to consider the affect their actions and decisions had on others, let alone consult with them. And just as God is no respecter of persons,...

In high school, there was never a dull moment with Maureen! We had some great times, and the parties at the Coady house were some of the best. She was a very tough woman (had to be growing up with all those brothers). I always looked forward to seeing her (and Bryan) at our class reunions. Maureen was always in good spirits and made me laugh. I will remember her and the times I spent with her always! Have the best time in your after life (I know you will)!

Jackie, what a delightfully written homage to your mom. It is true, anyone who knew her, understood her infectious laughter. I am sorry for your loss. I have to say this was the best eulogy I have ever had the pleasure of reading. Such love and humor...so well done...a true celebration of your momma...hugs to you. Prof..(a.k.a Emily Martin)
