Mrs. Jackman was an outstanding teacher; I had her 1986-1987. She set me up for success for the rest of my life. I often tell my children, now 6 and 8, the story of how I was talking out of turn and Mrs. Jackman disciplined me. I can still hear her voice over 30 years later and it brings a smile to my face. I was deeply saddened and in disbelief when I heard of Maureen's passing a few hours ago. Working with Maureen was always a pleasure. I often visited her classroom to see her in action with her first graders as she displayed kindness, caring and patience to all.
