Not sure what to say?

Mori,

Not a day has passed where I have not had you in my mind. I feel the time is getting closer for when we will meet again…

I guess on Mothers Day I chose to finally view this. As her son I still can't believe she is gone. After almost ten years the night of October 8th seems like yesterday. So many times I wish I could turn to her for guidance. Mom's have a way to make things clear. Now that I have a daughter of my own I think how much she is missing in her life by not having her grandma Mori. I was lucky to have two amazing grandmothers but I guess my Sophia is also lucky to have one amazing grandma here...

I suppose this is alittle late to write this as it has been a long time since Maureen's passing in what sounds like a terrible accident. I was saddened to see her name on a list of departed class mates when we had our last reunion.I asked if anyone knew what happened to her. She was always one of my favorite old friends to catch up with. I knew Maureen from grade school at Northport. We lived a few blocks apart and often played together. When I think of Maureen I too think of a happy friendly...

We shared many stories about our youthful adventures of the 60's and 70's. As Mori's co-worker, I admired her dedication to people. Whenever there was a client who experienced a medical problem, Mori was there with a solution, with a hug, with love. I'm positive that Mori was in heaven long before the devil knew she was gone from us.(Irish Blessing)

It took 2 weeks for the news to reach me in Florida. I had to read my email several times before the words registered. Mori had been in a fatal car crash. Impossible to believe that this vibrant friend was gone. She had been on my mind of late and I was about to call her.

I had been repeating Mori stories to many of my friends for some reason. "Shenanigans" she called them. Like the time when we were both poor students and we received an extra paycheck from work. Instead...

Mori

One less ray of sunshine
Lights the earth this day

One less smile to brighten
A child’s day

One less soothing voice to
Take a seniors care away

One more soul chosen
To be with God always

A part of my heart has been ripped away
I can only pray to meet you again in heaven some day.

Mori has been part of my life since 1970. Oh my, Mt. Saini Hospital was never the same after we worked there. We shared much since those days. What a wonderful time we had then, our early adulthood. Truely Mori has been one of my most treasured friends.

Two quick stories about Maureen.
When I was only 5 years old and had an eye for older women, this cute 8 year old blonde girl came to my house to go swimming. She was so nice and open to talking I think she became my favorite cousin.

Many years later she went on a Jeep Rally to Colorado where my brother, Bob, and I had the time to get to know Maureen a little bit better. We teased her about the purse she was using. It was an armadilo purse which opened and closed the way an...

I didn't know Maureen very well, not as well as I hoped to get to know her. I was fortunate enough to meet her twice though, and I felt like I'd known her for years. She had that knack that just makes people feel comfortable. I doubt she ever met a stranger. She had a genuine interest in other human beings and that came through loud and clear. So did her enthusiasm for life. It was interesting for me to read the other guest book entries because it just confirmed what I suspected - that...
