Maureen Flanagan McDonald, age 86, of Michigan City, IN passed away on Friday, November 9, 2018 at her home in Michigan City, IN. 
Maureen was born on August 28, 1932 in Michigan City, IN to James and Irene (Berg) Flanagan, who preceded her in death.   On September 15, 1951, she married John McDonald in Chicago, IL.  He also preceded her in death.
She is survived by her sons:  Robert McDonald, James McDonald, William (Mary) McDonald, Thomas (Glen Pruitt) McDonald, and daughter-in-law: Carole McDonald; grandchildren:  Sean, Terry, Kevin, Christopher, Matthew, and Michael McDonald; great-grandchild: Charlotte McDonald; brother:  Brian Flanagan; sister:  Colleen (Grant) Chapline.  She was preceded in death by her son; John McDonald Jr. and her brothers; James Flanagan and Dennis Flanagan.   
Maureen’s favorite time of year was Christmas creating cherished moments with friends and family, which she held most dear. Her free time was spent on the golf course, cheering for the Irish and knitting personal gifts.  More than anything, she loved her family. She was a proud mother, grandmother, great grandmother and a wonderful friend.  Maureen personified class, grace, elegance, humor but it is her smile that we all will remember most.
Memorial Visitation for family and friends will take place on Saturday, November 17, 2018 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at Notre Dame Catholic Church, 1005 Moore Rd., Michigan City, IN.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, November 17, 2018 at 10:00 AM at Notre Dame Catholic Church with Fr. Keith McClellan officiating.      
Arrangements have been entrusted to Geisen-Carlisle Funeral Home 613 Washington St. Michigan City, IN.
