Maureen Vahey, age 69, of Peabody, passed away peacefully on Saturday August 16, 2025.  She was surrounded by family and friends. Born in Boston, Maureen left an everlasting impression on everyone that touched her life. Always witty, always right to the point, and always with that feisty Irish temper and unforgettable smile. She was fierce in protecting everyone that she loved and cared for.


Maureen is survived by her son Kenneth Vahey, his wife Elisa Valeriano and her daughter Samantha Vahey and her husband Nick Drillis, her grandchildren Nathan Vahey, Devyn Phillips, Dylan Hubert, Thomas and Tyler Bettencourt-Vahey, also her lifelong friend Edward Vahey and extended family.  She was predeceased by her two sons, Daniel and Thomas Vahey.


Maureen also leaves behind her adopted loving family and friends at CareOne Nursing Home in Peabody. 


A memorial service for Maureen will be held on Saturday, August 23, 2025, in the Goodrich Funeral Home, 128 Washington Street, Lynn, 12:00 - 2:00 p.m.  Relatives and friends respectfully invited to attend.


In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
