Not sure what to say?

I know Maurice from the Canoe Club. He was always an admirable person and very kind and fun to be with. As a paddler, I knew Maurice to be a reliable and sober minded person who I could follow on the river. Every season Maurice would make a point of greeting me and inviting me to go on whatever he was paddling. I thought very highly of him as a human being. I will miss him very much. My kindest regards To Mottie and Family.

Motty,

You and Maurice were some of the first CCC members I paddled with during my first Week of Rivers in the late 1990s, and you made me feel welcome both on and off the river. Joining any trip that Maurice organized guaranteed a good day. I will miss Maurice, especially his calm demeanor and his humor.

My deepest sympathies to you and the family as you mourn his loss.

Motty, I never knew Maurice, but I knew you. Respect and love you so much. Thinking of you and holding you close. Take care. Love, Martha

Maurice spent many hours in meetings and on the river in order to leave a lasting legacy for paddlers and river conservation. It was a pleasure to work with him and serve with him on the board of the Catawba Wateree Relicensing Coalition. He will be greatly missed but his spirit and expertise are enshrined in the rules that govern our river. Heartfelt condolences to you Motty and family.

Maurice was a great friend, wonderful weaver, and a gentle and intelligent man. Always there to help, teach about and share his love of weaving. We will love and remember him always.

Maurice was an exceptionally thoughtful and intelligent man. He lead the Piedmont Fiber Guild for several years, and was an organized, directed leader. His kindness and gentle humor will be sorely missed by so many of us. My best wishes of comfort to Ursula and the whole family.

Motty and the Family,
Morris was a tireless worker for the Catawba River. It was a pleasure to work with him during the Duke Energy relicensing
and as a member of the Catawba Wateree Relicensing Coalition. My sincere condolences to you and your family, Shirley Greene

Fond memories of good times shared with Maurice - with love & prayers - from his niece

Motty and Family of Maurice, Please accept condolences from the Jones family regarding your loss. Maurice was a great man and a personal mentor for me early in my professional career. I considered him both a personal friend as well as a respected colleague. He will be dearly missed by all who he influenced during his great life.
