Sunset on the life of Maurice D. Compton was September 21st 2020. Maurice was the son of the late Maurice E. Compton and Henrietta W Compton. He was born September 29th 1957.


Maurice was a 1975 graduate of Patrick Henry High School. He was a member of the 1973 state championship football team. Maurice also attended Saint Paul College where he played football and ran track. After college he joined the US Navy.


He was preceded in death by his father Maurice E. Compton and mother Henrietta W. Compton, stepson Muhammad Shabazz and close friend Anthony "Tony" Bonds.


Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 20 years Regina Compton, his children Sherrelle Compton, Lucretia Holland, Conrad Blue; stepchildren Renada Crawford, Matasha Crawford, and Aminah (Maurice) Jordan; sisters Chiquita R. Compton of Richmond Va., Virginia (Larry) Smith of Roanoke Va., brother Kerry (Marilyn) Compton of Roanoke Va., nephews Jermaine (Eve) Compton of Texas and Daryl Compton of Georga, niece Ann Compton of Georgia, and a host of family and friends.


A PRIVATE service will be held Saturday, September 26, 2020 1:00PM at Serenity.  Interment will be in Williams Memorial Park.
