Not sure what to say?

Maurice Hale, (Pronounced -"morris") Uncle Maurice to many of you, Shorty Hale to his friends at Crane Mills. Dad, father and Pop to my brother and I, was a really good man.

You all know that.

What I do want to say is that I know how lucky I am to call this man father.

He taught me a lot. He taught me how to drive a nail, what plumb, level and square meant.

He taught me how to grow a garden and a herd of cattle. More importantly, I think, he taught me by example...

I only knew Maurice or as many called him Shorty for 6 months while he lived in our care home. He talked with pride of his two sons and the love he had for them. He mostly talked of his adventures and his service to his country during WWII. His loss of his wife recently and his brother during WWII. I don't believe he had any regrets, he lived life to the fullest, which is what we all should do. God bless you Shorty.
