Not sure what to say?

Candy Johnson. It's February 6, 2025. I came across Marty's obituary accidentally. In our childhoods, I was Marty's summer friend. And may have been the only St. Theresa's kid he knew. He was a wonderful guy. I practiced law in NYC and now live in Mt. Pleasant, SC. I'm 78 and thinking of moving. Marty might tell me to come back to New Cumberland. We're going to visit later this year. Jim Davis

Candy, I am so sorry to hear this. I stumbled onto the information today on facebook. I think of you fondly more often than you might expect. I always enjoyed our talks while you did my hair. and usually saw Marty hanging around working on something. He was fun to talk to, too. I hope that you are enjoying retirement. Sorry it was cut short for Marty, but glad that you had some retirement time with him before he passed.

Marty always called my dad coach and was always a welcome friend in the Hale household. My brother was close to him and I enjoyed seeing them together. Rest in peace dear Marty. Carol Hale Crawford

So sorry to hear of Marty's passing. I was also in the class of '64 at CC, and would've enjoyed seeing Marty again in three weeks. Condolences to his family and friends.

Very sad to learn about Marty´s passing, although very fortunate to have known him when I was married to John Hale; they were best buds for years until John passed. Marty was one of a kind, always fun, sincere & a gentleman. Sending prayers & comfort to Candy, Casey & their beautiful family. RIP, Marty...the heavens have gained another special guy! God bless all those missing Marty. I´m glad I grew up on 6th Street near him, in a time when neighborhood kids played together a lot. Marty, Addy and their parents were good neighbors. Many neighbor kids had lots of fun at their house. Marty´s legacy lives on.

Marty and I have been friends for the better part of 65 years , since my family moved to New Cumberland. We shared many memories together over all of these years. My Heart hurts for Candy, Casey and all of his Family. May you rest in Peace sailor. You are already missed.
