Not sure what to say?

Lord Maury, where do you even start with a friend of 52 years? From late nights at Dagwoods, cards at the Pavilion, the Block and Bridle Club, your work with my kids in St Joe County, helping Ariele at MSU, and then our limited interactions as time and our health crept upon us. You have been a great man, my friend. As my son would say, "Last call, Maury. It is your time to rest, brother." Love you.

I became friends with Maury through my deceased wife, Marie, who worked with Maury for over 20 years at the Kalamazoo County Extension office. Marie and I thoroughly enjoyed Maury's sense of humor along with his direct and honest way of communicating. He always had strawberries, bales of straw and the best sweet corn in the area. As a former farmer and farm boy, Maury and I had much in common. We had countless hours of laughter and Marie would frequently come home from work with a "joke of...

We will miss Maury terribly. Maury and my late husband, Al Brundage, went to Richland, High School together class of 1963. It was the last year that Richland, high school existed. They merged with Kellogg and became Gull Lake Community Schools the next year. We were friends with Nancy & Maury all the years after we were both married until Al´s death in 2004. Maury introduced me to `A Nice Widower´ named Bill Barton Jr. in Oct. 2012. We have been together ever since. We have enjoyed many...

Maury was a terrific neighbor and a generous and kind person. Nancy I will be praying for you and your family. I am so sorry for your loss.

I had the pleasure of meeting Maury and Nancy at my cousins ( Kares )diner in Richland. To the family my deepest sympathy on your loss. Sending prayers

Our condolences. Maury was a wonderful person who contributed greatly to society.

Dear Kaercher family, I am so sorry to hear of Mr. Karcher passing. He was a very special person, and teacher. I had him as a teacher for many years. I don't know if you remember me, Laurie (Davis), I babysat the boys for awhile. Prayers to all on your loss.

I am so glad, I was able to meet him. What a joy the Birthing tent was and is at the St. Joe County fair. My niece and nephew worked with him in the tent many years ago. I heard from them stories about his dedication of the animals there. Several years ago, his sister Jan was my neighbor in Florida. We talked about him, because of the fair. So when I traveled back to attend the fair, I went to the Birthing tent to see if I could find him. After that, we made it a yearly meeting. I was so...

Maury and Nancy were neighbors; their farm and ours adjoining. They raised cattle, and in the summers sold sweet corn from their yard; it was fine corn, and when you bought a dozen ears, you got 13, and good conversation. So sorry, Nancy, for your loss. Tom Bailey
