Not sure what to say?

M.L. was a dear friend to me for many years. I thank him for always being so gracious to me through my work with the Louisiana Sportswriters Association and for allowing me to be a volunteer pressbox worker at Tulane football games over the past 10-plus years. Like everyone I will have many happy memories of him. My thoughts and prayers are with his family. I know that Tulane will have friend in heaven as will all of us.

God bless all,

AL TIRCUIT

I have fond memories of Mr. Lagarde & Lakewood School from the three years that I attended the school in the early 70’s. It was a great foundation and I still have friends from that time. Sending prayers to his family.

When I was in middle school in the early 70's ML used to let me sit "on the roof" at Perry Rohm Park. He taught me how to keep a baseball scorebook. I now keep the book for my own son's entire league. What a great guy! May eternal rest grant unto him, O Lord and let perpetual light shine upon him. Dr. Greg Domecq, Lake Monticello, Virginia

I attended Lakewood School from first through eighth grades and was part of the last graduated class in 1975. I fondly remember those years, the friends, the teachers and of course Mr. Lagarde and the impressions he left upon me and my life. He was a wonderful headmaster. Caring, fair and most of all concerned for his students and faculty. I learned from him lessons about life that I carry with me today. It was then and forever shall be an honor to have known him.

Our sympathy,...

My deepest sympathies to Mrs Ollie Lagarde and the entire family. M. L. was a good friend when I worked with his father at La. Grocers Coop.,Inc. in N.O.in 1946-1950 He was always fun to be around as was his daddy. I'm was glad to see M. L again at a funeral last year st St. John the Baptist. Brought back a lot of memories. He is resting in peace now.

Hillar C. Moore Jr.

Rest in peace coach. Fond memories of one of the 3 coaches who lead the 1952 St. Aloysius football team to its first championship. Gasper Abene

Oh what an absolute Joy it was to be in Mr.Lagarde's presence... From the time I started in sports media (1981) and covering Tulane, M.L. was a delight to see! He always had encouraging words and kept a welcoming smile. Mr. Tulane was Good at his profession, but even Better as a Person. I will miss his presence and his personality. If God needed answers regarding the Green Wave, I'm pretty sure Mr. Lagard could answer them. I trust God in comforting the entire Largarde Family, and Pray M.L...
