I was saddened to learn of Maurice's passing. I met him when he drove me to my hotel in Charleston. When he found out I was from Hawaii, he knew of how well our little league teams did in the Little League World Series. He told me of the Cannon Street All Stars - how they were the best team out there, but denied a chance to play in the tournament because they were black. I was saddened to read that Maurice had passed away. I met him years ago when he drove me home from the airport. Our paths ended up crossing many times for many years. I always requested him when I needed a ride. If he wasn't available, I always asked about him. Everyone knew him and always spoke highly of him. He loved to talk about his young daughter/granddaughter (?) and her school work since I was a teacher. He was a kind man, a gentleman, funny, and always dressed to the nines. He...
