Maurice Wolfe

I attended Addicks Elementary School from 1957-1962 (grades 1 thru 5). Mr. Wolfe was first superintendent of Addicks ISD--but by the 1950s, there was only an elementary school in the district. So, he also served as principal. (When the school district dissolved, Mr. Wolfe remained as principal. He was a kind, gentle man who loved ALL of his students. I have only fond memories of him. One of those was being asked by Ms. Dixon (assistant principal?) to return to Addicks when the school was...

He was a real friend to me...rest in peace my good friend

Like Ms Thomas, Mr. Wolfe was also my principal at Addicks Elementary in the early 70's. My mom, Jackie Howard, taught art and music under his guidance. We all loved him. He, in fact, bought one of first paintings when I was 12 years old at an art show off of Memorial Drive in Houston. That was very inspirational for me. It was my first floral picture and one of my first sales. Great man!

Mr Wolfe was my principal at Addicks Elementary in the early 1970's. He was beloved by the scores of children who knew him as their leader. He supported his teaching staff with a trust that was earned and appreciated. Several years ago when he was still fulfilling his role as principal, my husband and I dropped by to say 'hello'. He had not changed ..what a joy it was to know he was still serving the school district that he loved. God Bless you Mr Wolfe.
