Mava Joyce Rodgers

RODGERS, Mava Joyce - Of Flint, age 71, died Thursday, June 10, 2010 at her residence. Funeral service was held Monday, June 14, 2010 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Pastor Raymond L. Cocke officiated. Burial was in Flint Memorial Park. Mava was born in Albertville, Alabama on September 26, 1938. On December 21, 1953 she married Herbert Rodgers in Mississippi. She enjoyed cooking, crocheting and family dinners together. Mrs. Rodgers retired from GM at AC spark Plug Division. Surviving are sister, Wanda Rea of Flint; brother, Jerry and wife Casey Rogers of Fenton; nieces and nephews: Debbie Shufelt of Grand Blanc, Cathy and husband Michael Millmine of Fenton, Johnny and wife Karen Rogers of Holly, Steve Rea of Flint and Rodney Rogers of Fenton; great-nieces and nephews: Tara, Dave, Kyla and Alexis, Heather and Wade, Brent, Sada, Kendal, Karley and Nash; great-great-nieces and nephews, Kyla, Alexis, Wade, Karley and Nash; many family and friends out of state. She was preceded in death by husband, Herbert Rodgers; daughter, Sandra Rodgers; parents, John V. and Ella Rogers; brother, Johnny and wife Judy Rogers and brother-in-law, Athel Rea.
