She shared with me memories of a happy childhood, including her father giving her a horse. She loved Westerns and cherished her daughter Trina. Rest in peace, dear lady. My sincere condolences to Trina and the family.

It was such a joy to know Mavis. We shared many laughs as well as more serious moments. There were stories that were tough for Mavis to tell, because they were not joyful, but in the fullness of time, we laughed together about them. It was a privilege to know my friend Mavis.
