Not sure what to say?

Leon, Cory, Leadon, and the entire Phuse and Newsome family, you are in my thoughts and prayers in your time of grief. Mavola's candle may be dimmed, but her light still shines on in the many lives she has touched. I was blessed to have known her since I transferred to the Jack and Jill Raleigh Chapter 16 years ago and continuing in Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. I was on vacation and regretfully did not get the news until last night.

I am so lucky to have been close with my aunt for 22 years. It is with great disbelief that I sit here and type this instead of calling or making one of my many visits. I hope to continue to be strong during this hard time because I know you wouldn't want it any other way. One thing I will say is, please know that I will take everything you have taught me and apply it to my life daily. I will continue to keep your more informed than anyone else. Especially on my love life :) I love you and...

May the love of friends and family carry you through your grief.

Mavola was my friend and mentor while I taught at West Cary. I am still benefiting from her wisdom and friendship. She was truly a unique gift from God to all who knew her. I have missed her since I moved to Virginia, and I will still miss her until we will meet again in our Heavenly Home. We have this hope in Christ Jesus our Lord!

I just found out today (7-8-10) that my friend sinse 3rd grade was gone. I am still stuggling with the concept of her departing. My head understands that God has his own plans, but my heart is very heavy. I will miss you my friend and I wish you a peaceful journey. Marcia Eason

To the Phuse and Newsome family. Our prayers are with you in this time of sorrow. Unfortunately we received the news late but we will be in contact.

The Vann Family

How lucky for me that I was fortunate to work with such a wonderful person when I returned to teaching in NC. Mavola was an inspiration and a wonderful asset to the staff and students at West Cary Middle School.
With deepest sympathy, Julie Hohns

I was so sorry to hear of your loss. The thoughts of many are with you at this time of sorrow.

To the Phuse and Newsome Family, know that you have my condolence. My prayer is that God will keep you in his comfort and in His care. Rev. Steele and Jasmine (Raleigh)
