Max Erwin Bertholf

I was Max´s nurse and Nursing Supervisor for Roanoke Valley Juvenile Detention Center from 2004 till his Retirement. Max was a smart caring physician and was missed by all when he and MaryJo retired from us. Rest easy my friend and condolences to all the Bertholf family.... Mary Gardner LPN

Dr. Bertholf was my doctor for many years. He was a kind and compassionate doctor who cared for his patients. He delivered our first daughter in 1968 and Soon after that he stopped delivering babies! We laugh about that. He was a good man and a wonderful doctor.

I have only known Dr. Bertholf since 2010 when I became the Interim Pastor at Cloverdale Church of the Brethren. He and Nancy were always very generous with me, inviting me to their home at the Glebe or to the Sunday Buffet at the Glebe Dining Hall. Those meals enabled me to get to know their children and families. When I left Cloverdale in the Fall of 2011, each time I came back for an event or a Funeral or just to visit, Dr. Bertholf made a point of connecting with me! He always...

Dr. Berthold was my family's doctor since 1953 when we moved to Roanoke. I had the privilege to visit him at The Glebe in 2013. My sister and I have never forgotten him and the gentle manner he took care of us. A wonderful man. Gonna miss him.

Dr. Bertholf was my Dr when he was off Williamson Rd. I liked him a lot and hated when his practice moved. Prayers for his family.

I first saw Dr. Bertholf as a young girl. I followed him all my life while a nursing student and working at RMH. I was lucky enough to attend HS with Susan and I am sending her and the rest of her family well wishes at this time.
