Not sure what to say?

Very nice man with old school toughness full of life and upbeat charisma.

Max was a very special man and I always loved his sheepish grin and humor. He will be missed by many. Cheryl Holman Donaldson

I was sorry to hear of your father's passing. He had a very full and accomplished life. My thoughts & prayers are with you and your family.

Dear Nan, Bruce, and Maxine,
When a single man has left such a mark on his all who knew him and his community as a whole, you know there walked a menshe. A man who was bound by no single generation, and was truly known for his kindness, humor, and wisdom. I am saddened for your loss, and wish you strength during this difficult time. Dear Nan, Maxine, Bruce, & Family,
We are so sorry to hear about your Father's passing. The obituary is a beautiful tribute to his memory as are the guest book comments. He was quite extraordinary and will surely be missed by many. We extend our deep and sincere sympathy in your sad loss.

Max was a favorite uncle who will be dearly missed. He was always cheerful, had a great sense of humor, and was a great guy who always helped those in need.

We have many wonderful memories of him and the times our families spent together. Most of all we'll remember him for making Thanos feel welcome into our family and for how much he helped us when my father was in the hospital, in Boston.

We love you and will miss you, Uncle Max. I hope you're in heaven partying with...

Maxine, Bruce and Nancy,

I just learned of your Dad's passing and send my condolences. He was a great man and enjoyable to talk with. He was helpful the day we met a few years ago with Ralph Goodman to recall the early days in Pittsfield, dairies, people and places. May our thoughts and prayers be with you during this period of healing. Jim(my) and Jackie Shulman

Dear Nan and Maxine,
Your father was such a special part of my life - I am going to miss him terribly. Since moving in next door to him, he has occupied such a huge part of my heart. He meant the world to me and taught me so much about life and living. I will love him and remember his always. Thank you both for letting me into your family and for giving me the wonderful gift of being able to say one last goodbye - my last visit with "Mr. Bookless" will always be a treasured memory. ...

Having grown up on Foote Ave,my siblings and I have many fond memories of Max and Shirley from both childhood and, more recently, when I moved back to the neighborhood. His wit and wisdom will be missed. The world is poorer for his passing.
