Not sure what to say?

please keep this on line as his story circles the internet. This is AMERICA!!!

With grattitude I sign this guest book of a stranger and mourn for the privelaged family who called him..husband,Dad and Grandpa. Thank you Max RIP

Wonderful man - what a life! Inspiring, encouraging - never say no, never give up, no matter how difficult or how bad things are. The beauty of human friendship! They leave a lasting memory. Bless their souls.

I was deeply moved by Max's book It is a real lesson in what is important in life. I was very touched that he called me and I was able to speak to him before his passing.

My wife Chris and I along with our four daughters are deeply sadden by the passing of our dear friend, of over sixty years.

My daughters refer to Max and his wife
Doris as "Uncle Max" and "Aunt Doris".

We will always fondly remember the
happy days we spent together as "Chef Max" toiled over his famous barbecues.

I would like to offer my condolences to the Gendelman family. Regrettably I never met Max, but I did interview more than 350 veterans of the 99th Infantry Division for "Once Upon A Time In War: The 99th Division in WWII." For those who would like to know what it meant to be a combat infantryman in WWII, take a look at the book, which is a powerful read. Robert E. Humphrey, Sacramento.

MY WIFE AND I WERE SORRY TO HEAR OF THE PASSING OF MR. MAX. WE BOTH WORKED AT CENTURY HARDWARE AND ALTHOUGH I DID NOT ALWAYS AGREE WITH HIM ON HOW TO RUN THE SHIPPING DEPT. WE WORKED TOGETHER TO KEEP THE COMPANY STRONG. HE HAD A REMARKABLE LIFE AND LIVED IT TO THE FULLEST.

RON & KATHY HEIDER, NAPLES, FL

My family is priviledged to know David (Taus), a good friend of our son, and share in his, and your, grief. I am familiar with the history of Mr. Gendelman's unit in WWII, and as a veteran myself share the sadness at the loss of one of the 'greatest' generation. Please accept my family's condolences.

I am so sorry to hear about the loss of Max, I did not know Max but Gary Rattner a friend of mine(teaching and coaching}talked about Max a lot. So the story of Maxs's life did not surprise me!
God Bless
