We celebrate the achievements and life of Max, who served his family, has country, and profession with wisdom and dignity. He will always be remembered. We are saddened over the news of his death, however the loss is overshadowed by the proud legacy of his life. Our family will always have fond memories of Max.

My cousin Max's kind generosity introducing me, a distant Londoner, to my extended American and Canadian family brought new friendships and a new Jewish awareness into my life. I will treasure the holiday we spent together in Munster last year, our visits to Chicago art galleries, boat trips... and our fascinating conversations about American politics, his years in the air force, travel... He was fascinated by life, and his quiet old fasioned way of embracing you into his world will stay in...

I'm not sure if I met Max when I was young and travelled with my parents (to visit Hella & Walter Josephson in Peoria), but he called 2 years ago when my mother passed away. I still remember the kind and gentle conversation. It was like we had known each other for years.

I was so sorry to hear about Max's passing. We had made plans to meet the next time I was in Chicago. I knew him since I was very young, and he attended my parent's wedding in Germany. He was indeed a bright and kind person.
