Max Lee Goodman

In 1979, when Hurricane Frederick was moving towards Mobile. I remember watching Channel 5 that morning and Max said it could be a bad hurricane for this area. I told Mom we better do what MAX said and get outta Mobile. I was in Middle school. Great memories of his humor and his professionalism on Wkrg 5. I remember Max giving the temperatures with a marker on a screen of across the country and more especially at Brookley field.

When I was 9 I was on the "Sheriff Max Show" on WDAM television out of Hattiesburg-Laurel, Mississippi. My two cousins and I watched the show every day. I actually called the station and got us on, at 9 years old. I wanted to be on so bad! I've told my family all about it for years. It is one of my favorite childhood memories. I am sorry to read about his passing. I am now 71 and I will never forget being on his show.

I never met you in person but you were a huge part of my life on The Big Show I couldn't wait to get home and see what was on The Big Show hopefully it was an old horror or 50's sci-fi movie which is still the stuff I love to watch. Thank You for being there I always got a kick out of your humor on the show and I'm sure you're now hosting the really Big Show. Mark Ritchie

So many great memories of watching Mr. Max Goodman hosting "The Big Show" in the late 1960's and 1970's.
Max Goodman was a joy to watch as he introduced and commented on the film of the day.
